Salty Dog properties was founded August of 1998. After going through the hassles of trying to build a vacation home away from home, Salty Dog properties founder saw a need for a Company that would provide turn-key vacation and retirement homes, in rural Chesapeake water-oriented areas. The goal of Salty Dog Properties is to provide cost effective waterfront and water-oriented vacation and retirement Homes with minimal hassle to land owners. In addition to providing concept to completion general Contractor Services to our Clients, we annually build 1-2 "spec" vacation and retirement-style homes. These houses are made available to the buyer that desires quick occupancy and/or "turn key" vacation or retirement homes.

At Salty Dog, we focus on the Northern Neck of Virginia, a "slower pace of life," water-oriented area that fits the vacation and retirement life styles. Due to the demands of the local contractors, Salty Dog Properties has standardized on the use of "Systems built" (Modular) homes for most projects. Our policy is to built it modular if we can and stick build it if we have too, this determination is based on the overall design of the home. Today's Modular homes are computer engineered to meet and exceed all national, state & local building standards. With hundreds of stock plans to start with, and the ability to computer generate totally custom plans in house, the design of your "dream home" is only limited to your imagination.
